Meet Your Psychotherapist

Ashley is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Trent University, and a postgraduate specialization in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College.
Ashley specializes in trauma therapy, working with individuals experiencing post-traumatic stress injury/disorder (PTSI/D) and distressing symptoms resulting from traumatic events. Her primary approach is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with a particular focus on EMDR-PRECI, a structured protocol designed to help clients safely and effectively process recent trauma. This method enables the brain to reprocess distressing memories in a way that reduces emotional intensity, restores a sense of safety, and prevents long-term disruptions caused by unresolved trauma. By using bilateral stimulation, EMDR-PRECI allows the nervous system to integrate overwhelming experiences, helping individuals move from a state of distress to one of stability and resilience.
Her clinical experience includes private practice, crisis intervention, and residential support. She has worked as a Residential Counsellor in a high-support transitional housing program and volunteered with Distress Centre Durham, serving as both a Crisis Line Responder and mentor. Ashley has pursued extensive additional training in trauma-informed care, behavior change models, and suicide prevention.
Ashley believes that trauma does not have to define a person’s future. Her approach is rooted in the understanding that healing is not about erasing the past but about reclaiming control over how it impacts the present. Through EMDR-PRECI, she helps individuals efficiently process and release distressing memories, empowering them to move forward with greater emotional ease.
