Introduction to The Haven

Recognizing the need and identifying gaps in care

At The Haven, we recognize the profound impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on Public Safety Personnel, Military Members, and their Families. Statistics suggest that PTSD affects approximately 30% of all First Responders, with risks heightened by routine exposure to traumatic stressors. Such exposure not only elevates the likelihood of PTSD but also increases susceptibility to related mental health issues like anxiety and major depression, which can be just as debilitating.

At the Haven, we use the term "Public Safety Personnel," which encompasses a broad group of professions, including Police Officers, Firefighters, Paramedics, Correctional Officers, Border Services Officers, Emergency Medical Technicians and many more. The Haven’s services also cater to our Military Members. At The Haven we appreciate the care, support and mental health effect that can be had on the families of our Public Safety Personnel and Military Members, we acknowledge these unique challenges faced and aim to offer specialized care to the family members as well.

Our goal is to enable individuals to return to their families and workplaces healthier and well-equipped to manage their mental health challenges.

We are eager to discuss how your support can help realize the vision of The Haven, providing a critical resource for those who serve and protect our communities.
